Crunchy Peanut Cookies

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt into bowl. Add shortening, sugar, peanut butter, egg, vanilla and about half the syrup. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Fold in remaining syrup and oats. Drop from a teaspoon onto greased baking sheet and bake in a moderate oven (375° F.)  10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
