Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices. Beat shortening until creamy. Add
sugar gradually and continue beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating
after each addition until fluffy. Stir in vanilla. Add flour mixture alternately with bananas,
a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth. Turn into 2 well-greased
9-inch layer cake pans. Bake in a 375° F. oven for about 25 minutes, or until
