  We " crack " whole rosemary leaves into pieces about 1/3 the size
  of the whole dried leaves in our stone Lee  mill:  we also powder
  rosemary.  Powdered is  good mixed with black pepper & then added to
   flour or bread crumbs for rolling fish or chicken in before cooking.
